There are safety pins on the side plate to prevent accessories removal. And the non-thread hole will not damage your monitor. It comes with many 1/4’’ thread holes, which makes it easier to mount articulating arm etc. Besides, adding a shoulder strap is a good choice, which gives you more convenience during shooting.
