GY-HM200ESB

The new JVC GY-HM170E and GY-HM200E handheld camcorders offer HD and 4K Ultra HD recording in a small, compact design. They are based around a single 1/2.3 BSI 12.4 Megapixel CMOS sensor with a 12x optical zoom lens and are packed with professional features. The compact design of the cameras makes them perfect for travelling videographers, since they are lightweight without compromising on professional features. The cameras record full HD at 1080/50p, with a multi-codec system allowing you to record in different formats (4:2:0 or 4:2:2), depending on the selected codec (MOV/ AVCHD).

Both cameras also record in 4K Ultra HD, recording at 23.98/25/30p as a single file via UHS-I U3 SDXC/SDHC cards. For HD recording up to 50Mbps, use class 10 SDHC/SDXC cards; MOV HD needs a minimum of class 6 cards, while AVCHD, SD and web formats require a minimum of class 4 cards. The dual slot system allows continuous recording with hot swap, back-up recording and pre-recording.

The lens on the GY-HM170E and GY-HM200E cameras is a compact zoom lens,from 4.67-56.4mm (29.5-354mm 35mm comparison), with 12x optical zoom and an additional 24x dynamic zoom. A built-in ND filter can be selected from clear, 1/4 and 1/16, with an optical filter attachment for 62mm external filters or add-on lenses. The optic also includes autofocus and optical image stabilisation. The GY-HM170E camcorder comes without a handle and is the smallest compact design in our professional range. It has a built-in microphone, with 3.5mm minijack input for external microphones; a handle with built-in professional XLR audio inputs with phantom power is standard on the GY-HM200E.

The GY-HM200E camcorder also adds all the IP features from the topof- the-range JVC camcorders, including excellent network connectivity, FTP file transfer and live streaming capabilities – from very low bit rates for satellite phone transmissions up to 8Mbps or more for fast internet connections. The camera can also be controlled via a standard web browser (including FTP transmissions) and doesn’t need any dedicated software or applications. It supports a USB host for connecting WiFi, ethernet or 3G/4G dongles.
 

Both cameras have a range of professional features including focus assist, expand focus, zebra, clip cutter, clip mark and time stamp, while a Super LoLux feature provides extra gain for critical lighting conditions with its 36dB setting. They offer full playback of the recorded contents, up to 4K, via the HDMI single output. The GY-HM200E adds a 3G SD/HD-SDI output – please note that 4K content is automatically down-converted to 1080p when output via this interface.
